Stretchmarks too, are scar tissue and may be improved with specific laser treatments.
There are several different lasers that may be used to treat scars, the choice depending on many factors which our doctors will assess.
At Áda, the pulsed dye laser, Nd:YAG, erbium and CO2 laers are the main lasers used but other specialised lasers may also be employed if necessary.
Repeat treatments sessions are usually required to achieve optimal results as individual responses will vary.
1. Injectable Skin fillers including some permanent ones eg Aquamid can also be used. These can achieve dramatic improvements in depressed scars such as those seen in acne especially when combined with subcision.
2. Medical Needling (Roll-Cit) is another option for scars and stretchmarks where other treatments may not be suitable or have not achieved optimal results.
3. ReCell technology - repigmenting white scars. Developed for treating burn patients this procedure can potentially repigment white scars or lost skin pigment.
