RF Skin Tightening Tripolar
(Also known as RF skin contouring)
This new advanced RF (radio frequency) technology from Pollogen, has overcome some of the problems with earlier monopolar and bipolar radio frequency devices. Tripolar RF has a more controlled delivery of heat to the skin and subcutaneous tissue, therefore is less painful and a safer alternative, with reduced isk of burn injury.
How does Tripolar RF work?
Unique technology uses 3 electrodes to control the RF energy and focus it into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. In the dermis heat stimulates initial collagen contraction and generates longer term new collagen. Secondly, deeper RF energy in subcutaneous tissue stimulates fat metabolism, shrinking the fat cells. Both these mechanisms helps firm and rejuvenate.
What areas are suitable?
At Ada we use Radio frequency Tripolar for lower face and upper neck, skin tightening and contouring. Other parts of the body can also be treated such as upper arms and abdomen.
Is it painful?
No, the heat delivery is controlled and no anaesthetic is required.
Is there any down time?
There is no down time; this is an in-office “lunch time” procedure.
Are there any side effects?
At worst, some redness of skin may appear which will settle after 1-2 hours.
Some swelling may be noticeable and could persist for 1-2 days, but this is rare.
How many treatments are required?
On average 6 sessions are required for optimal results, these are split into 2-4 week intervals.
How long will results last?
There is no straight forward answer; the longevity of results varies for each individual. Many factors will influence results such as chronologic ageing of patient, life style (smoking, sun exposure), medications, illnesses etc.
Generally, we encourage repeat treatment after 12-18 months.
